Málaga Half Marathon 2026

Join the coastal running celebration at the Málaga Half Marathon on Sunday, 15th March 2026 at 8:15, where 2,000+ runners take on one of Spain’s flattest and fastest seaside courses along the stunning Costa del Sol.

The Course

The Málaga Half Marathon starts at 8:15 on Paseo del Parque in the heart of Málaga Park. Over 21km, you’ll run alongside the coast, admiring the sparkling Mediterranean Sea throughout your journey. The route forms a scenic loop starting at the Hotel Ilunion roundabout, where you’ll turn left and head towards the city’s harbour along Paseo Marítimo Antonio Machado.

You’ll then follow Paseo de la Farola, giving you the chance to pass the famous lighthouse! As you continue, you’ll run past and through some of the city’s most iconic monuments. After a series of turns and loops along the waterfront, you’ll return via Playa de La Malagueta beach and head straight back to Málaga Park, where you’ll cross the finish line!

Collect your race number at the Expo held at Málaga Stadium’s indoor track:

  • Friday, 13th March 2026: 10:00–20:00
  • Saturday, 14th March 2026: 10:00–20:00

On the Course

Refreshment Stations: Located at 5km, 10km, 13km, 16km, 18.5km, and at the finish line.

Time Limits & Checkpoints

Important checkpoints to ensure you stay within the time limits:

  • 5km: 40 minutes
  • 10km: 1 hour 20 minutes
  • 15km: 2 hours
  • 20km: 2 hours 40 minutes
  • Finish: 2 hours 50 minutes (chip time)

Facilities

Baggage Storage: Free lockers available on Sunday, 15th March from 6:45 to 11:45

Toilets: Available at the start, finish line, and at certain refreshment stations

Awards & Prizes

Cash Prizes for the top three male and female finishers:

  • 1st Place: €2,500
  • 2nd Place: €1,500
  • 3rd Place: €1,000

Every finisher receives a medal at the finish line!
