DESCRIPTION:Nestled in the heart of Extremadura\, the V. Half Marathon “Ruta de los Monumentos” returns to the charming town of Medina de las Torres on Sunday\, 11 October 2026. Now in its fifth edition\, this race has firmly established itself as one of the most scenic and welcoming half marathons in the region — a perfect blend of competitive spirit\, stunning landscape\, and small-town warmth. \nThe Course – Medina de las Torres Half Marathon\nThe 21.097 km route begins and ends in the Plaza de España\, right alongside the town hall\, giving the event a wonderfully local\, community-rooted feel. Roughly 85% of the course winds through trails and dirt paths in excellent condition\, with only 15% on tarmac — making it a genuine mixed-terrain challenge that rewards runners who relish variety underfoot. The total elevation puts you through a real workout without overwhelming\, and the surrounding countryside of Badajoz province provides a backdrop that is hard to beat. Alongside the half marathon\, a flat-friendly 8K promotion race runs concurrently\, making the event accessible to runners of all abilities. \nOrganisation & Logistics\nDorsal collection opens at 8:15 in the Plaza de España\, with the half marathon starting at 9:30 and the 8K following ten minutes later. The cut-off is set at 12:00 — two and a half hours — giving a generous window for all paces.
