On 26 April 2026, Madrid will once again become the epicentre of the world’s biggest running party. The Zurich Rock ‘n’ Roll Running Series Madrid celebrates its 48th edition, and 47,000 runners from around the globe are expected to take to the streets of the Spanish capital for a day of sport, music, and pure spectacle.
Three distances for every runner
The event caters to all levels, offering a Marathon, Half Marathon, and 10K. Both the Marathon and Half Marathon set off at 8:45 am, while the 10K gets underway slightly earlier at 8:00 am. The course passes through the most beautiful and iconic landmarks in the heart of Madrid, making it as much a sightseeing tour as a race.
A running party like no other
What sets this event apart is its atmosphere. More than 30 live entertainment stages and music stations are spread along the course, keeping the energy high from start to finish. Thousands of spectators line the streets on race day, turning the entire city into one enormous, open-air celebration.
A truly global event
With over 10,000 international runners arriving from 110 countries, the Madrid race is one of the most internationally diverse events on the European running calendar. It is organised by AD. MAPOMA and forms part of the Rock ‘n’ Roll Running Series — the world’s largest running series, comprising 31 marathon and half marathon events worldwide.
