Privacy Statement (EU)

Last updated: 16 September 2026. Applies to visitors from the European Economic Area and Switzerland.

This statement explains what personal data we process when you visit mediasmaratonesespana.eu.com. We follow the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Spanish data protection law (LOPDGDD). In short: we collect as little as possible, optional analytics and marketing cookies are only used with your consent, and we don’t sell data.

1. Who is responsible

Zoltan Tamas (NIE Z2454511W), owner of Medias Maratones España, C. Mayor Antigua 68, 2º izda., 34005 Palencia, Spain. Contact: runnersinfo@mediasmaratonesespana.eu.com.

2. What we process and why

2.1 Hosting and security

The website is a static site served through Cloudflare. To deliver pages and protect the site from abuse, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the time of the request. This is necessary to provide the website (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Cloudflare’s privacy policy: cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.

2.2 Website statistics

We use Ahrefs Web Analytics, a privacy-friendly analytics tool that does not use cookies and does not build profiles. It gives us aggregated figures (page views, referring sites, country and device type) to understand which pages are useful. IP addresses are not stored in a way that identifies you. Legal basis: legitimate interest in improving the website.

If you accept analytics cookies, we also use Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Limited). It uses cookies to process device and browser data, approximate location and the pages you visit, to give us visitor statistics. Google uses your IP address to estimate your location but does not log or store it. Google signals and ad personalisation are switched off, and data is kept for 14 months. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time via “Cookie settings”. Google’s privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.

2.3 Contact by email

If you email us, we use your email address and message only to reply. We keep the correspondence for as long as needed to handle your request, and at most 12 months afterwards. Legal basis: your request (Art. 6(1)(b)) or legitimate interest.

2.4 Newsletter

The newsletter is not live yet. When it launches, you will only be subscribed if you actively sign up (consent, Art. 6(1)(a)), and you’ll be able to unsubscribe at any time. We will update this statement to name the email provider before we collect any addresses.

2.5 Embedded videos

Race videos only load from YouTube (Google) when you click play, using the privacy-enhanced youtube-nocookie.com domain. From that moment Google processes data such as your IP address under its own privacy policy. Legal basis: your consent, given by clicking play (Art. 6(1)(a)).

Race pages show an accommodation map from Stay22 (Stay22 Technologies Inc., Montreal, Canada). It only loads after you accept marketing cookies. From then on Stay22 and the booking sites you visit through it (such as Booking.com) process data like your IP address, browser data and the bookings you make, partly to pay us a commission. We don’t receive your booking or payment details. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)). Stay22 privacy policy.

3. Sharing

We don’t sell or rent personal data. Data is only shared with the service providers named above, who act as processors, or when required by law.

4. International transfers

Cloudflare and Google may process data outside the EEA. Such transfers are covered by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and/or Standard Contractual Clauses. Stay22 is based in Canada, which the European Commission recognises as providing adequate protection.

5. Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, and to data portability. To exercise these rights, email runnersinfo@mediasmaratonesespana.eu.com. You can also complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (aepd.es).

6. Cookies and local storage

See our cookie policy. You can accept, reject or change optional cookies at any time with “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page.

7. Changes

We may update this statement when the website changes. The date at the top shows the latest version.
