Gandía, 8 November: flat, by the sea

The 31st Mitja Marató Ciutat de Gandía is a flat, certified single loop that starts on the seafront promenade, runs through the Marjal de Gandia wetland reserve and finishes after the old town. The regulations give 2 hours 30 minutes and promise a medal and a commemorative shirt for everyone. It is the first of the month, so it suits runners looking for a quick autumn time.

The 15 November triple: Vigo, Tenerife, Melilla

Three very different half marathons share a single Sunday.

  • Vigo’s LA21 has a hard cap of 1,300 places and runs along the Ría de Vigo from O Vao beach to the Real Club Náutico. Entries close on 11 November.
  • Santa Cruz de Tenerife is at sea level, and its organiser’s map shows a route that runs out along the port to a turn at km 7.4 before a final city loop. Bibs can only be collected on the Friday or Saturday.
  • Melilla is the cheapest on the calendar, at €10 to €15, and two flat laps of the city. Entries stay open until 13 November.

Gran Canaria, 21 November: a night race

Few Spanish half marathons start at 20:00. The Gran Canaria Media Maratón Memorial Alcalde Camilo Sánchez in Vecindario is two laps of 10.5 km under street lights, with a cut-off of 1 hour 15 for the first lap and 2 hours 45 for the whole race. 21K runners get a shirt and a gymsack, and the winners get €300.

Maresme, 22 November: Catalonia’s flattest

The Mitja Marató del Maresme runs along the coastal N-II from Premià de Mar through El Masnou, Vilassar de Mar and Cabrera de Mar. The organisers call it the flattest race in Catalonia, and it has a generous 4-hour limit, a medal and a shirt printed with the four towns on the route.

One to watch: Ceuta

The Media Maratón Ciudad de Ceuta is listed for Sunday 22 November, but the organiser hasn’t confirmed the date yet, so we’ve marked it as an estimate. The last edition was on 23 November 2025: two laps from the Royal Walls. See the Ceuta race page for the latest.

Which one should you pick?

  • Fastest course: Gandía or Maresme.
  • Most unusual: Gran Canaria at night.
  • Combine with a trip: Tenerife or Vigo.
  • Cheapest: Melilla.

Prices and limits change, so confirm them on each race page before you enter.
