- Expected Sunday 22 November 2026 (date not yet confirmed)
- Two laps of a flat urban circuit from the Murallas Reales
- 10K, kids' races and cash prizes for the top five
- Finisher medal for everyone
Ceuta, the Spanish autonomous city on the North African coast opposite Gibraltar, has its own half marathon, and it has been running for more than three decades. The Media Maratón Ciudad de Ceuta is organised by the Instituto Ceutí de Deportes (ICD). The most recent edition, the 33rd, was on Sunday 23 November 2025, and the 2026 edition is listed for 22 November, though the date is not yet confirmed.
The course
Start and finish are at the Murallas Reales, the city’s historic Royal Walls. The route is completely urban and, per the ICD, has barely any climbs. In 2025 the 10K was one lap and the half marathon two laps of a circuit through González Tablas, Rotonda Enrique el Navegante, Juan Pablo II, Pueblo Marinero, Avenida Compañía de Mar, the Rampa del Muelle Alfau, Marina Española, San Amaro and the Carretera del Cementerio de Santa Catalina. In 2024 the course was certified by the Spanish athletics federation, with aid stations at km 4, 7, 14 and 18 and at the finish.
A small field and real prizes
Around 300 athletes were expected in 2025, with start times staggered from 9:00 for the youngest categories to 10:00 for the absolute race. There is a children’s mini half marathon (600 m to 3 km) alongside the 10K and 21K. Every finisher gets a medal, and in 2025 the top five in the 10K and half marathon won cash prizes from €500 to €50.
Planning
- Entry: online at icdceuta.es; in 2024 the half cost €18. Registration in 2025 ran from 17 October to 20 November.
- Traffic: expect limited vehicle access in the centre from about 10:00 to 12:00.
- Getting there: Ceuta is reached by ferry from Algeciras, so it pairs easily with a trip around Andalusia’s races.
All the course details above are from the 2024 and 2025 editions, so check the ICD’s 2026 announcement for any changes.
