La Media de León is one of the biggest running events in Castilla y León, organised by the city council with CD Sprint Atletismo León. The official site lists the 2027 edition for Sunday 4 April 2027, a later date than the usual late March.
Course
The start is on Paseo del Parque and the finish is on the athletics track of the Estadio Hispánico, which is always a great way to end. The route passes León’s main sights, including the cathedral area, and is known as a fast course certified by the Spanish Athletics Federation.
Good to know
- Aid stations: km 5, 10, 15 and 20, plus the finish.
- Time limit: 2 hours 30 minutes.
- A 5K runs on the same day.
- The finish-line party at the stadium includes music, prize draws, inflatables for kids and local food tastings.
- León sits at about 840 m altitude, so April mornings can be chilly.
