The JJP Sherry Maratón is a wine-country race: the course goes through the streets of Jerez de la Frontera and out among the vineyards of the Marco de Jerez, with aid stations in sherry bodegas. It has three running distances: the marathon, the 21 km Sherry Media and the 14 km Sherry Promo.
The 2027 edition
The race is set for Sunday 18 April 2027 with an 8:00 start, according to the registration page on Rock the Sport. Entries opened on 28 July 2026 and run until 11 April 2027. The half marathon costs €33 (the marathon is €45 and the Promo €28). The organiser is Terraincognita Global, and the organisers said in 2026 that they were already preparing the marathon’s tenth anniversary for this edition.
The race in 2026
In 2026 the Sherry Maratón was on Sunday 3 May, the day after the Sherry Bike (MTB, gravel and e-bike) event, and together they gathered more than 3,600 participants from over 50 countries. The marathon alone had over 2,800 entries. The half marathon was the most popular distance, with 48% of runners, ahead of the 14 km Promo (41%) and the marathon (11%). About 40% of runners were women, which the city council called one of the highest shares for a Spanish race.
Planning
Jerez is easy to reach by train from Seville and Cádiz, and April is usually warm. We haven’t found a published elevation profile or time limit, so check the 2027 rules before you set a target time.
