Few half marathons run a stretch of a pilgrim route. The Media Maratón del Camino follows the Camino de Santiago in La Rioja from Nájera to Santo Domingo de la Calzada, a point-to-point course of about 21 km. It is organised by Club Maratón Rioja and held on the first Sunday of March. The last edition we have details for is the 18th, on 2 March 2025.
Nájera to Santo Domingo
In 2025 the race started at 11:00 on Calle Costanilla, by the monastery church of Santa María la Real in Nájera, and finished in the Plaza Mayor of Santo Domingo de la Calzada. The course was measured at 21.095 km. The organisers provided buses from Santo Domingo back to Nájera and to Cirueña, and bibs were handed out at Santo Domingo’s town hall on the Saturday and Sunday.
Entry and rules (2025 edition)
