The Vitoria-Gasteiz Maratón Martín Fiz is named after the city’s world marathon champion and gathers four distances on one day: the 42K marathon, the 21K half marathon, the 10K and the 5K, plus a 1 km race for children. The 2027 half marathon is on Sunday 16 May 2027, with a start at Mendizorroza at 8:30.
2026 and what to expect
The 2026 edition was on Sunday 10 May, with participation up 20% on 2025. It was the 24th edition of the marathon. The half marathon was won in 1:09:32 by Jonathan González Arnaiz and in 1:23:38 by Diana Vecillas, according to the official results published by Gasteiz Hoy. The course has little climbing, around 137 m accumulated over the marathon distance.
Entry and rules
Registration for 2027 is open on the organisers’ platform, linked from the race website. We haven’t found the 2027 prices. The provisional 21K rules set a 2 h 52 min finish cut-off, and the event is organised by Asociación Deportiva Maratlon with Ascentium.
Not to be confused with
Vitoria also holds a half marathon in December, which is a separate race on our calendar. This one is the half on marathon day, in spring.

No. The December race is a separate event on our calendar. This one is the 21K that runs on the day of the Maratón Martín Fiz, together with the marathon, 10K, 5K and a children's race.

The provisional 2027 rules for the 21K give a finish cut-off of 2 hours 52 minutes. Provisional means it can change when the final rules are published.
Is the course flat?
