Few half marathons have a backdrop like Segovia’s: the race starts on Avenida del Acueducto in the shadow of the 2,000-year-old Roman aqueduct and finishes in the Plaza Mayor beneath the cathedral. It is a UNESCO World Heritage city, and around 2,500 runners take part.
Course
Segovia is built on a rocky ridge, so the course is hard, and runners love it for exactly that reason. Aid stations are at about km 5, 11 and 15, plus the finish, and live music plays along the route. Adjust your time goal: this is not a PB course.
