The Media Maratón Entre Rías links two neighbouring towns on the Galician coast. It starts in O Grove and finishes in Sanxenxo, on the Salnés peninsula in Pontevedra, passing A Toxa island and A Lanzada beach. The route is certified by the RFEA.
The race
The half marathon starts at 10:00 on Sunday 16 May 2027, with a 10K at 11:30. Free children’s races are on the Saturday, 15 May, at 11:00. The race is organised jointly by the councils of O Grove and Sanxenxo. The 2026 edition was on Sunday 17 May.
Practicalities
Entries are handled by Deporticket, and the race website links to the event page. We haven’t found the 2027 prices, the time limit or the opening date for entries, so check the website. Because it’s point to point, work out how you’ll get from Sanxenxo back to O Grove (or to where you’re staying) before race day.
Combine it with a weekend
The Salnés coast is a popular holiday area, and mid-May is before the summer crowds. The race route covers the best-known places on the way, so it works as a sightseeing run at a relaxed pace as well as a timed effort.
