Ciudad de Palencia Trail 2027

The Trail Ciudad de Palencia has a slogan that explains the format: “Sal cuando quieras, llega cuando puedas”, start when you want, finish when you can. There’s no mass start. It’s an individual time trial, and you choose when to set off within a time window. The 14th edition was on Sunday 25 January 2026, part of the Copa Aventura series run by Linumberco. The 2027 date isn’t out yet, and the race is usually in late January.

How the rolling start works

Both routes start from the Dársena del Canal de Castilla, the canal basin in Palencia, on low-mountain routes around the city. Whenever you start, the finish closes at 13:45. A 10:30 start on the long route gives you 3 h 15 min, so if you’re slower, go early.

Timing uses SportIdent. You wear a chip on your wrist or backpack strap and punch it at mandatory checkpoints along the way. Miss one and you’re out of the results.

Bring a €20 note

When you collect your bib (race day from 8:30), you leave a €20 cash deposit for the chip. You get it back when you return the chip at the finish. If you lose or damage the chip, you keep neither your deposit nor your place in the results.

Entry and what’s included

• €15, or €9 for cadets (14–17). Entries closed on the Wednesday before the race (21 January 2026).
• Your shirt size was guaranteed only if you entered before 12 January.
• Includes chip rental, insurance, a finisher’s gift, showers and aid stations: water and isotonic drinks on course, then hot drinks, fruit and nuts at the finish.
• The course is marked with bright tape and 1 m flags. Staff cover the road crossings, and you must follow their instructions.
• Trophies go to the top three in each category, as long as a category has at least seven runners.

If you can’t race, the entry fee isn’t refunded within seven days of the event, but it can be moved to the next Copa Aventura race.
