Badajoz, on the Portuguese border, puts on a proper running weekend: a half marathon and a full marathon on the same morning, with a guided city visit and pasta party the day before. It is organised by the city’s municipal sports foundation.
Course
The start is on the Paseo Fluvial along the Guadiana river. The course runs through the city with local bands and batucadas cheering runners on. Aid stations are at km 5, 10 and 15, plus the finish. Bag drop is at the La Granadilla sports centre.
Good to know
- Typical date: mid-March (third Sunday in 2026). The 2027 date has not been announced yet.
- Time limit: 3 hours, very friendly for first-timers.
- Around 1,000 runners across the distances.
- Trophies for the top three men and women in each category.
