The Mitja Marató de Figueres is an early-December loop into the Alt Empordà countryside. Catalan calendars place the 10th edition on Sunday 6 December 2026. The organiser is the Associació Mitja Marató Figueres, and the details below come mostly from the 2025 edition (the 9th, on 7 December 2025), because the official site hadn’t posted 2026 information yet.
Out of Figueres and back up
The half marathon takes in the villages around the capital of the Alt Empordà. After a steep descent from the centre, the route connects Vilatenim, Vilabertran, Peralada and Cabanes by local roads and rural paths, then returns to Figueres, now climbing. That order matters for pacing: the early kilometres are downhill, and the legs have to cope with a rise at the end.
In 2025 the start was on Carrer Monturiol at 10:30 and the finish in Plaça Catalunya, with the route altered because of roadworks, so it was not homologated that year. The surface was 100% asphalt.
2025 logistics
- Entry: €25 for the half marathon, €15 for the 10K.
- Time limit: 2 h 30 min.
- Aid stations: Vilabertran (km 6.5), Peralada (km 11), Cabanes (km 15), and a finish buffet.
- Categories: overall, Masters 40+ and Masters 50+, men and women.
- Shirt: the first 800 runners across both races got an OTSO shirt.
- Bibs: Saturday from 10:00 to 14:00 and 16:00 to 20:00, or Sunday 8:00 to 10:00, at the Casino Menestral on Plaça Catalunya.
Local press has reported record registrations in recent years, so book early if you want the shirt. If you can stay on, Figueres is also the home of the Dalí Theatre-Museum, which makes the trip worth a full weekend.
