If you want a quick half marathon in Catalonia in late November, the Mitja Marató del Maresme, part of La Cursa Dani, is aimed squarely at you. It’s on Sunday 22 November 2026, starting at 8:30 at Marina Port in Premià de Mar, north of Barcelona. The organiser is Dani On Line S.L., and the half marathon is homologated.
The flattest course in Catalonia
The route runs on the coast road, the N-II, through four towns: Premià de Mar, El Masnou, Vilassar de Mar and Cabrera de Mar. Last year’s guide by the Catalan running blog Blogmaldito counted only two short uphills, around km 5 and km 13.6, and two sharp 180-degree turns, at about km 5 and km 15.7, where you have to brake. There is a one-lane squeeze around km 15 to 16, but the start has four wide lanes, so congestion early on is low.
The cost of a fast road like this is wind and monotony: the blog’s advice was to keep an even effort, push with a tailwind and ease off into a headwind. Aid stations are at roughly km 5, 10.5 and 15.5, with liquids and solids, and last year FunRunners supplied six pacing groups from about 4:00 to 6:00 min/km.
