The Mitja Marató de la Garrotxa, known as ‘la mitja del pernil’, is a half marathon with a prize you can eat. The 31st edition is on Sunday 7 March 2027, organised by Club Natació Olot, with a popular 10K (the 12th) the same morning. Everyone who finishes the half marathon within the time limit gets a ham, and 10K finishers get a cured-meat selection.
Through the Vall d’en Bas
Start and finish are in Olot, the capital of the Garrotxa volcanic area. Both routes loop through the Vall d’en Bas, passing La Pinya and El Mallol, with the peaks of Santa Magdalena and Puigsacalm in view. The organisers publish the route on Wikiloc through the registration page. The start time and the finisher time limit hadn’t been published when we checked.
