Torrevieja Half Marathon 2027

There is no Torrevieja Half Marathon in 2026. On 3 September 2026 the town’s sports department announced that the International Half Marathon and the 10K are postponed to 2027, because the roadworks and resurfacing plan under way on much of the route make it impossible to hold the race with full guarantees for runners, organisers and the public.

The council says the new date and all details of the 2027 edition will be published through official channels. Until then, the date in our calendar is only an estimate based on the usual third Sunday of October, so don’t book travel around it.

What the race looks like

This is what the last edition, the 38th, on Sunday 19 October 2025, looked like:

• Organisation: Club Atletismo Torrevieja, with the town’s sports department.
• Distances: the 21.097 km half marathon (minimum age 18) and a 10K (minimum age 16).
• Start and finish: the start on Avenida Gregorio Marañón at 9:30, the finish on Calle Los Portalicos, in the town centre.
• Course: a certified, fully asphalted circuit that the council describes as completely flat, with sea views.
• Field: a record of more than 2,000 registered runners, about 40% of them international and around 80 aged 65 or over.
• Support: over 200 volunteers, plus traffic control and medical cover.

Bibs were collected on the Saturday from 17:00 to 20:00 and on race morning from 8:00 to 9:00, and the awards for the top three men and women and any course record followed the finish.

Planning around the gap

Torrevieja sits on the Costa Blanca, about 45 minutes by road from Alicante, and its flat, sheltered course is popular with runners from northern Europe chasing a quick time in autumn. If you were planning it for October 2026, look at nearby races on the Alicante and Murcia calendar instead. Pilar de la Horadada is a similar flat road race about 20 km south, on 8 November 2026.

Check the council’s website and the organisers’ social channels for the 2027 date before planning anything.
