Forget personal bests. The Álora Half Marathon is about strong legs and a good heart. Organised by the Guadalhorce-Álora athletics club, it links the white hill town of Álora with neighbouring Pizarra on a course known for its repeated climbs.
Course
Start and finish are at Plaza de la Fuente Arriba, next to the town hall. The route drops into the Guadalhorce valley towards Pizarra and then has to climb back up to Álora, which is where the race is decided. Pace the first half conservatively.

- Typical date: first Sunday of March. The 2027 date has not been announced yet.
- Time limit: 2 hours 30 minutes.
- Field: around 400 runners, with a friendly local atmosphere.
- Cash prizes for the overall winners.
- Álora has a train station on the Málaga–Seville regional line, handy if you don’t want to drive.
