Bilbao does things differently: its big race is at night. The event is now called the Bilbao Night Running Fest. The full marathon has been dropped, so the half marathon is the headline distance, with the 10K “Carrera Pirata” alongside. The 2026 edition starts at 19:00 on Saturday 17 October 2026.
Course
The race starts on the esplanade of San Mamés stadium and finishes near the Guggenheim Museum. It runs as a single lap through the city’s main streets and along the estuary, with fireworks, live music and plenty of spectators. The route has very little climbing and is certified by the Spanish Athletics Federation.

- Time limit: 2 hours 45 minutes.
- Pacers have covered 1:25 to 2:00.
