The Media Maratón Internacional de Santa Cruz de Tenerife returns for its 12th edition on Sunday 15 November 2026. The half marathon goes off at 9:00, followed by an 8K at 9:45. It is organised by DADO Eventos with the city council, sits on the Spanish athletics federation’s calendar, and had over 4,000 runners across its races last year.
The route: out along the port, then a city loop
The organiser’s route map shows a 21 km course with the start and finish at the same spot on the waterfront, beside Plaza de España. It’s a figure of two halves:
- Km 0 to 7.4: straight out north-east along the seafront and the port road, past Valleseco and the port inspection centre, to a turning point at the edge of the port area.
- Km 7.4 to about 15: the same road back, so you pass the aid stations twice and can see the runners ahead and behind you. You come back through the start/finish area at about km 15.
- Km 15 to 21: a last loop of about 6 km through the south-west of the centre, with the final aid station at km 18.2 just before a park by Calle Numancia, then back to the finish.
The whole thing is on asphalt at sea level. The 8K uses the same start and finish with a shorter city loop.
Water and aid (km on the way out / on the way back): 2.4 / 12.5, 5 / 9.8, then 15.5 and 18.2.
