· 08:00
- Saturday 5 December 2026, 8:00
- Point to point: Puerto del Carmen to Costa Teguise
- Shuttle from the finish to the start; 3 h 30 min limit
- Finisher medal for every distance
The half marathon on Lanzarote is one of three distances in the Lanzarote International Marathon weekend, alongside a 10K and the full marathon. The 2026 race is on Saturday 5 December, with the first start at 8:00 according to the registration page. It’s organised by Sands Beach Active, and it’s a good way to add 21 km to a December trip in the sun: the race site’s own pitch is about 21°C and blue skies.
Puerto del Carmen to Costa Teguise
The half is point to point. It starts on Avenida de las Playas in Puerto del Carmen, the island’s main resort strip, and ends at Avenida Islas Canarias 18, in Costa Teguise where the runners’ fair is held. A shuttle bus takes half-marathon runners from the finish area to the start, but it has to be reserved in advance.
Distances are marked along the course, and the organisers say there are refreshment points throughout, with water, isotonic drink, fruit and toilets. The course is only partly closed to traffic, and in public areas you need to give way to pedestrians.
Rules and logistics
- Entry: €70 until 25 November; registration closes 4 December.
- Time limit: 3 hours 30 minutes.
- Minimum age: 16, with parental authorisation.
- Bibs and chips: collected at the runners’ fair in Costa Teguise; photo ID is mandatory.
- Medal: every finisher of every distance receives one.
Weekend plan
The day before the main races there is a 5K “Santa Claus” run and children’s races. Because the shuttle runs from the finish back to the start, arrive in Costa Teguise early on Saturday. If you are doing a Canary Islands trip, the Gran Canaria night half is two weeks earlier.
