Not many half marathons are run inside a working port. The Media Maratón Fundación Puertos de Las Palmas takes runners through the interior of the Puerto de la Luz, in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. The foundation brought the race back in January 2026, and on Sunday 25 January 2026 it drew more than 2,000 runners across the half marathon, 10K and 5K. Whether it returns in 2027 hasn’t been announced, so the date on our calendar is an estimate only.

The 2026 edition

Start: 8:00 for the half marathon and the 10K, from Avenida de los Consignatarios.
Course: across the interior of the port; the half marathon was certified by the Spanish athletics federation.
Championship: the half marathon also served as the Canary Islands championship.
Other races: a 5K at 11:05 and children’s races from 10:30, including a new Mini Marathon.
Awards: half marathon and 10K at 11:15, 5K and children’s at 12:00.
Bibs: at the El Muelle shopping centre on Friday evening and Saturday.
